Today is the feast day of the Saint Patrick, patron saint of Ireland, who arrived there in 432 AD, converting the Irish from Druidism to Christianity, and becoming a great legend by the 7th century.
British troops left Boston on this day back in 1766, a day that is now a holiday in Boston, and referred to as Evacuation Day.
It's the birthday of painter and illustrator Kate Greenway, born in London in 1846, and probably best remembered for her MOTHER GOOSE illustrations.
Today is the anniversary of the founding of the Camp Fire Girls in 1910 in Lake Sebago, Maine.
